Guides for TELECOM GROUP server
Server guides are steel corners of various thicknesses and lengths, which are attached to the frame of the server cabinet using bolts or hooks. They are used to support large and heavy equipment and provide side supports for shelves.
Server rails are installed in open racks, as well as in closed floor-standing or wall-mounted cabinets, regardless of their installation location. 19-rack server rails come in two main types:
- fixed;
- sliding (retractable).
Given the specifics of the operation of IT equipment, the need for maintenance or replacement of certain components periodically arises. If you decide to buy only fixed guides for 19 equipment, then during the work you will have to disassemble the side walls of the cabinets and remove the above equipment in order to get the necessary device. Retractable strips significantly save time and simplify the work of the master.
How to choose server guides
Since the rails in rack 19 are lateral supports, to ensure the safe placement of equipment they should not sag under the weight of servers or switches and should be securely fixed.
When choosing guides for cabinet 19, you need to take into account several parameters:
- cabinet depth;
- weight of devices;
- mounting method.
The length of 19 inch guides depends on the depth of the structure and can be 400-1000 mm. Since the main purpose of the angles is to support the equipment, they are made of steel. The thickness of the metal depends on the expected load. A monitor can weigh 5 kg, and a network switch can weigh more than 150 kg, so heavier equipment requires thicker guides. Bolted fastening at four points ensures their reliable fixation.
19 rack-mount telescoping slides can be used for drawers or equipment placement. This model is more expensive compared to fixed slats.
